MOM'S APPLE PIE ~ The BAND ----- THEY ARE BACK !

MOM'S APPLE PIE ~ The BAND   Mom's Apple Pie is an American ten-member horn rock band from Warren, Ohio. They were best known for the X-rated artwork on their first album cover that received more media attention than their music.   Band members include: Dave Mazzochi – band leader/Hammond B3/vocals;  Bob Fiorino - vocals; Anthony Gigliotti - vocals; Bob Miller - lead guitar; Joe Ahladis - guitar; Greg Yochman - bass;; Roger Force - saxophone, flute; Bob Pinti - trumpet, vocals; Fred Marzulla - trombone; and Pat Aulizia - drums. The band's manager, Larry Patterson, from Hermitage, Pa., is responsible for Mom's Apple Pie being recorded on the label, Brown Bag Records, owned by Terry Knight.  Mom’s Apple Pie released two albums in 1971 and 1973, with a third one recorded but never released until now.  The music is great horn rock with brilliant vocal harmonies, band arrangements and musical skills and composition that has stood the test of time.  It’s the same excellent music in the new millennium that their audiences heard decades ago, but eluded millions of potential fans because of poor publicity about the first album cover. “The Pie’s” music often spoke of their massive brass-arrangements along with organ, guitar, and overall solid musicianship.  Dave Mazzochi, band leader on Hammond B3 and vocals, composed and wrote a number of the band’s more popular tunes like ‘Lay Your Money Down” and “Dawn of a New Day.”  Bob Fiorino was the recognizable voice of the band, lead singer and composer of many songs to include, “Secret of Life.” Both albums have become favorites among collectors, due in part to the first album's risqué cover artwork, which contains a depiction of a vagina as a wedge in an apple pie.  The cover was banned shortly upon the album's release and an alternate cover was released, making both versions highly sought-after among collectors.   Rockin’ to the Music, a single from Album #3, will soon be released on Mom’s Apple Pie Records, and will be available for download @   www.momsapplepiemusic.com
